Hi! My name is Lauren Cummings and I am a second year at Northeastern University. I am majoring in Data Science with a minor in Business Analytics. I am a sports fanatic with hopes of using my degree to work in sports analytics. The sport I am most passionate about is Formula One. Formula One, or F1, is the pinnacle of motorsport. I got hooked on the sport after watching my first race in 2021. Hamilton had won an amazing race and I was hooked on it ever since then. I've followed every season since then with excitement. I love the incredible teamwork and strategy behind the scenes, the innovation that goes into the cars, and the intense battles between drivers on the track. F1 brings together engineering, strategy, and athleticism, which makes it truly unique and exciting. My dream job within Formula One would be a race strategist. This position is key to winning races as they use real-time data to predict pit stops, tire degradation, weather impact, potential safety cars, etc. My degree would be great for this role as I would have learned the necessary skills to interpret data and make valuable insights based off of it.
